Gridiron.Fit

Holistic Football Training

Gridiron.Fit is a premium training program that takes a comprehensive approach to building elite athletes and helping them achieve their goals. Our unique and proven workouts are combined with a focus on macronutrient education, micronutrient testing, sleep routines, injury prevention, and film study. Our team of former professional and college football players utilizes scientifically tested methods to help athletes achieve superior results.

College Football Preparation

Since its inception in July of 2021, NIL or Name, Image, and Likeness has completely changed the college football landscape and provides athletes with tremendous opportunity to earn significant compensation while playing a sport they love.  To do that, athletes need to excel in targeted athletic measurables, know how to manage social media, have regularly updated highlights, be versed on media training, and have access to college recruiting activities.  Our team has many connections with large Division I and other football programs and they have the trust of these programs knowing we will provide them with accurate assessments on prospective college football players.  This training program will work closely with each athlete to ensure they are best prepared to benefit in their college pursuit.

Associations

Gridiron.Fit works with FBU or Football University .  FBU is the top competitive football program in the country that celebrates countless former participants as current collegiate and NFL standouts.  FBU provides the highest level of exposure for middle and high school football players of any competitive program in the country.  These opportunities for national level exposure include the FBU Freshman All American Game, UA Next 8th Grade All-America Game, FBU Futures Showcase, and National Combine.

Gridiron.Fit also works with the NFLPA or National Football League Players Association  as our team of former NFL players coach and sponsor events like the Sandlot 7v7 Pro-Am Challenge.  These events provide athletes with invaluable opportunity to interact and be coached by current and former professional players.

NIL Contract Support

For the athletes in our training program, the prospects of earning a significant NIL contract are real.  Unfortunately the  prospects of unscrupulous actors trying to take advantage of athletes and parents are also real.  So we have partnered with one the largest and best legal firms in the country that provides NIL contract reviews at no cost.  These reviews are designed to provide an understanding of the terms and conditions of the NIL contracts they are presented and to provide baselines of other similar contracts.  The athletes and parents may wish to have continued support through the NIL negotiation process which can also be provided.

World Class Facility

AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk is the home of Gridiron Fit.  The facility is a 420,000-square-foot indoor sports venue with soon to be added outdoor football turf.  Inside, there is a dedicated strength, speed, and agility room along with indoor turf during winter months.  Unlike other indoor facilities in the area, this sports park has ceiling heights that are conducive from passing and punting.  AdventHealth Sports Park is the best training facility in the metro area.

College recruiters are looking at hundreds and sometimes thousands of high school players and college transfers every year.  They don't have time to watch everyone's film and they know that film may be deceiving if the relative competition is poor.  So individual measureables are the first screening criteria.   If you are 6'6" 300 lbs, you're in luck as you will get a look no matter where you are playing.  For the smaller guys, its all about your 40, 5-10-5, and vertical.  So that's what we train and have countless hours of research on the best ways to improve those measurables in the least amount of time.

More than 50% of football players' goals are achieved in the kitchen. As the building blocks of your body, athletes will never achieve any elite goals without proper nutrition. We will educate on and monitor the most important aspect of nutrition in macronutrients. These are things like proteins, carbohydrates, and cholesterol. Many athletes have goals of packing on additional muscle weight and in order to do that, the athlete must take in more calories than the body burns. As the primary building block of muscle, protein is the key macronutrient to focus on.

Nutrient deficiencies exist extensively among many members of the U.S. population. Rich, poor, well, or sick, 92% of the population is suffering from at least one mineral or vitamin deficiency based on the Dietary Reference Intakes. The entire country is overfed and undernourished.  Even if you consume a “perfect” diet, the odds are something is missing.  As part of this program we provide our athletes with blood tests that identify micronutrient deficiencies so that we can create a diet and supplement plan that best contributes to optimal performance and recovery.

Sleep is perhaps the most overlooked or considered aspect of athletic performance. We have coached many young athletes who also neglect to view sleep as important as evidenced by how many have told us they had “all nighters” the day prior to games. Yet, what we now know is that sleep is just as important as the workouts themselves to superior performance.  The body only grows and repairs during sleep.  The top eight finalists in the Olympic 100 meter sprint in track and field were separated by .35 seconds. We educate our athletes about superior sleep habits and expect them to implement them in our program.

Probably the second most overlooked activity, next to sleep, to achieving athletic performance is increasing flexibility. As an athlete works out and builds muscle, that muscle will only be as elastic as it is trained to be.  Athletes that weight train and do not perform adequate stretching, lose a significant amount of mobility and tend to injure themselves more readily. Barry Sanders was a great example of a weight training athlete that was extremely diligent about stretching.  He is quoted as saying, “Flexibility is a big part of my training. I do it for running style. I see some inflexible backs tighten up when they break open and they get caught.”

Jeff Lewandowski played high school football in Omaha, NE.  Playing running back for the Millard North Mustangs, he took full advantage of Fred Petito’s Power I, run heavy offense.  Being an adept cutback runner led to top ten numbers in rushing.  This provided Lewandowski with an opportunity to continue at the collegiate level playing wingback at the University of South Dakota.  Denny Creehan’s wing-T offense was a balanced run-pass scheme which highlighted Lewandowski’s ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.  “Football has been key to my success in life.  It taught me work ethic, loyalty, and brotherhood all of which have been a major reason for accomplishments beyond football” Lewandowski claims.

This love of the game and lessons football taught Lewandowski, inspired him to give it back to the next generation in the form of coaching, dedicating over a decade to shaping young athletes in competitive youth football and wrestling. His expertise as an offensive coordinator for the Kansas Outlaws showcased his offensive prowess, leading the team to a stellar 2024 season, finishing ranked YNC #8 in the nation. Additionally, as Head Coach of the MoKan FBU team, he consistently guided his teams to top-10 national rankings in postseason play, cementing his reputation as a top-tier youth coach.

As a self-described fanatic for gaining competitive advantages in sports, Lewandowski has authored over ten articles on the subject. His work spans practical topics like improving 40-yard dash times and optimizing sleep habits, to nutritional insights on macronutrients and micronutrients, and warnings about the detrimental effects of drugs and alcohol on athletic performance. Through his coaching and writing, Lewandowski remains committed to pushing the boundaries of athletic excellence using science and inspiring the next generation of athletes. His journey reflects a lifelong devotion to the sport he loves.

In 2014, Eric joined the Blue Springs Athletic Association as a youth coach, later serving in various roles as a board member of the league. In 2019, he founded Squad KC, a developmental youth football program intended to offer athletes a safe learning environment while teaching them proper fundamentals. Furthermore, in 2021, Eric joined the coaching staff at one of the top high school programs in MO, Lee’s Summit North. He currently serves as the Varsity DB coach and head JV coach.

When he isn’t coaching, Eric can be found helping his former Squad KC and FBU Team MoKan players with their college recruitment efforts by facilitating meetings and game day visits at top schools throughout the country. “I always wanted to give back,” says Eric, “so helping others reach their goal is a very rewarding feeling.”
